Artist Statement

My work is a reflection of my journey toward visibility, embracing the beauty of imperfection, and learning to take up space with intention. Each piece I create is both an exploration and a quiet declaration—an invitation to connect with material, form, and self.

I work primarily with wood and plaster, two materials that hold stories within them. Wood, with its knots, grains, and weathered imperfections, is a collaborator that brings its own history into each piece. Plaster, with its fragile strength, challenges me to surrender to unpredictability. Through these materials, I create sculptures and wall pieces that reflect a dialogue—between material and maker, between intention and chance.

My creative process is a practice of surrender, allowing each piece to evolve on its own terms. While I begin with a direction in mind, I remain open to shifts along the way, trusting the materials and my instincts to shape the outcome. This way of working mirrors my personal journey: unlearning the urge to blend in, embracing individuality, and becoming comfortable with being seen.

At its core, my work is about creating space—for myself and for others—to exist authentically. I am interested in how forms can evoke a sense of presence and invite viewers to reflect on their own relationship with imperfection. Whether through sculpture or wall-mounted installations, I aim to spark moments of connection that encourage a deeper acceptance of our stories, our bodies, and our existence.
